Highly secure and reliable identification requires certainty. The volume of communication grows exponentially along with global interconnectivity and the related need for security increases. Therefore having certainty is becoming more and more important. Fast and, above all, certain identification is essential on both ends of business communication and transactions: for private individuals who want to protect their rights and their achievements without any hassles, or who want to access their funds easily, as well as for companies, public institutions, and governmental agencies.
Engraving, burning, high resolution.
Austria Card specialises in high-security ID cards and has therefore acquired a wealth of highly specialised technologies and production know-how, extending to the most hard-to-process materials like polycarbonate: Laser engraving, which currently achieves some of the highest security standards in the area of card personalisation, makes it impossible to manipulate cards undetectedly. Photos and signatures can also be burned into the card so that they are permanent and impossible to counterfeit. OVI features, like those found on the 50 Euro bank note, change colour depending on the aspect-angle.
Fluorescent printing is only visible in UV light and cannot be photocopied. Small animations can be produced using Kinegrams ©, which creates moving images from a multitude of tiny light-refracting elements. These images discourage counterfeiting as effectively as holograms, which are still and have been used on credit cards for years.
Microprints, which cannot be seen by the naked eye, can be printed on cards at up to 5,000 dpi resolution at Austria Card. Then, what appear to be line structures actually turn out to be text features, - when viewed under amplification - provided that the card is an original and not a counterfeit. With CLI, "Changeable Laser Image," up to three partial images can be burnt into the card using a laser at different angles of incidents of the laser beam. This feature can be seen by tilting the card when looking at it. Another feature, rainbow printing, not only provides security, it also makes identification cards visually more attractive.

UNICODE personalisation permits difficult multilingual tasks to be solved quickly, for example personalisation in Arabic, Chinese and Hebrew using the full range of foreign-language characters and letters. "Rapid Prototyping" allows sample cards and prototypes to be produced quickly, even when the latest technologies are used. Security Printing and Security Design are available as professional services in Austria Card's corporate family. Thus, whatever our customers desire - and even more - can be integrated into the security design!
